Rated 3 out of 5 by from Grit in my cup I'm dismayed that someone has messed with my favourite coffee.. I've drunk almost nothing else but gold blend for half a lifetime, but suddenly someone has negated one of the best things about a quality instant coffee, in that you can drain the cup completely. This is no longer the case & I now have to beware of getting a mouthful of 'grits' like it's a pretend "real" coffee. If I'm going to have to put up with this, I might as well fill the machine & make a pot of fresh coffee anyway.. Would have been a lot better if you had introduced this as a new alternative product, rather than a replacement of your best-known brand with something inferior..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor poor poor Crikey I thought it was just us that hated the new stuff but I’ve stumbled on so many like minded unhappy customers. The taste is definitely weaker and if you add more then you get more black sludge in the bottom, not nice at all. As so may have said they do not like this sludge and so many times you try and explain about the micro granules etc, well what we are saying we don’t care what it is, we don’t like it and we dont want it. Please change it back so we can enjoy and your product again or lose so many loyal customers. What is worth noting is that many of the reviewers giving a positive feedback have received the product for free.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rename to Gold Bland We have drunk Gold Blend for more years than I can remember and have never found a better instant or fresh coffee that comes close to the rich deep flavour. Yes, it has always been expensive but what cost for good coffee, even after starting a family and money was tight we always had Gold Blend. The taste and flavour is now thin, cheap and bitter, I suggest the name is changed to Gold Bland. We will buy Gold Blend again if the recipe reverts to the original, until then, we will be trying other manufacturers coffee to see if anyone is producing one that is close to our preferred taste. Devastated to have to say “goodbye Gold Blend and goodbye Nescafe”

Rated 1 out of 5 by from OMG - What Have you Done? I've been drinking Gold Blend as long as I can remember - and I'm in my fifties. After realising that I wasn't enjoying the latest jar, I found myself here. OMG, OMG, what have you done? This is the most upset I've been about a product in many many years. Gold Blend was simply one of life's standard benchmarks that you could always rely on. You have now completely ruined things. It's a very unsettling feeling to e.g. walk back into the house and realise you can no longer enjoy a good cup of coffee. Both at home, and at work (office syndicate) we will not be buying any more. Please reconsider and bring back the original version!

For the past few months I have been buying refill packs and recently thought I must have purchased a 'rogue' pack as I didn't experience the lovely aroma when opening the pack, the coffee tasted bland and I was left with grit/powder at the bottom of the mug. Earlier today a friend and fellow (former) Gold Blend fan told me she has stopped buying it as she has been so disappointed with changes made to the product. I decided to search "what has happened to Gold Blend" and have come across all these negative reviews. Please bring back the coffee we all love. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why have you changed it?!!! I have drunk Gold Blend for many years and enjoyed it made with a third heated milk and rest water. Went to buy a new jar recently and was confused b y new packaging but thought it must be the same coffee.. how wrong! Opening the jar there was no aroma like there used to be and it just did not taste the same, it is bitter and leaves a strange taste in the mouth, have tried adding more sugar to no avail. So today i decided to google ‘changes to Gold Blend’ and i discover similar reviews to mine.. your new packaging does not advise changes have been made and i am deeply disappointed in you. Rated 1 out of 5 by from You've ruined the best instant coffee out there! I've been drinking Nescafé Gold Blend for all of my adult life. I've tried other instants along the way but none have been worth changing to as my main brand. It's also the only coffee my husband would drink too. For an instant coffee it was almost as good as a filter coffee, it smelled good when you opened it and then drinking it was a pleasure. Notice I say WAS. It was all of this until you changed the recipe - now it's just bland, tasteless and there's nasty gritty stuff at the bottom of the cup. What were you thinking. It's the end of an era. It's now as poor, not worth drinking so we're back to filter coffee.

I have been drinking Gold Blend for around 20 years, I've managed to get 2 employers to change their coffee choice because it USED to be great (and they agreed at the time it was). Now however there is no other way of putting it, it is terrible! Black muck at the bottom of the cup, so weak that it doesn't even taste like coffee. The only thing I can do is swap brands to something else unless you have the good sense and change it back to how it was. I am not alone in the above opinion I have seen on several forums and social media sites ex-gold blend customers stating the same!!
