Rated 1 out of 5 by from No longer my cup of coffee Last month I bought two jars of Alta Rica with the new jar design and label. What a disappointment – little wonder they were on special offer. The coffee tastes cheap and muddy and not at all like the Alta Rica I've been drinking and enjoying for many years. I notice that Nescafe/Nestle are saying that the formulation hasn't changed. Fortunately, I tend to stock up on coffee and so still have some jars of the previous design and label in the cupboard. Doing a like-for-like test, I find it difficult to take seriously the assertion that only the jar/label has changed and so have ceased to buy Alta Rica and will look for an alternative. In the meantime, my older stocks will keep me going for another month.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New...and Ruined While I generally drink "proper" coffee (espresso/stove top/pour-over), I have always kept Alta Rica for a kick-start to the morning when I just don't have time to grind and brew from scratch. I have to agree with other recent reviewers in that the recent changes are NOT just to packaging. Aroma and flavour have both changed significantly, and for the worse. If this is not a change to the blend/product by Nescafe, then it is either poor quality control or some detrimental effect of the new packaging.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New jar/design, but definitely a drop in taste! I've been drinking Alta Rica for, well, years, it must be close to a decade now, I always have at least 3 cups a day and unless the water has gone "off" in the kettle, it's always tasted great, until the new packaging. It really has changed in flavour and aroma, as others have said, it can't be a coincidence that so many people have noticed this, surely? Even my mum and her friend who love Alta rica, are no longer drinking it. And why fix what isn't broken? the former jar design was perfect and easy to spot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disgusting! Much the same as other reviewers I have been drinking Alta Rica for many years and despite what Nescafe say these new jars contain a completely different coffee. About a year ago I contacted Nescafe regarding German made Alta Rica for sale in the UK again with a completely different coffee. My guess is this new rebranding is just a way of putting this cheap coffee into our cups at the same profits. I won't be buying this or any other Nescafe coffee product

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's changed for the worse I have enjoyed Nescafe Alta Rica coffee for years. It had slightly edgier flavour which I preferred to richer or lighter options. It was slightly bitter if anything. It has changed recently and I don't like it any more. It seems to be trying to be like an Americano you would get out somewhere. Also, there was a foil lid inside the screw top with a tab you pulled for a short while. This was amazing, but it's gone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What's happened to the Alta Rica I have been drinking Alta Rica coffee for years and love it and recommend it to everyone. But the jar I have bought recently in the new shape and style has a totally different taste and is undrinkable. Have you changed the recipe along with the jar? I will no longer buy this coffee and unfortunately as I bought two jars as they were on offer I am now out of pocket. Please let me know if you change it back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Change for the worse Having just bought the newly packaged jar and compared old with new I find that I will no longer be buying Alta Rica. It does not have the depth of aroma and is almost muddy - almost as if the jar had been left open for months.
