How do you like your coffee?
Want to know how to make a certain style of coffee with NESCAFÉ? Macchiato or mocha, caféate or con panna, it's all here!
Espresso
'Espresso' is Italian for 'very fast' and, allegedly, it’s the basis of all great coffees. Although the credit for the invention of espresso must go to the Italians, the first espresso machine was actually created in France. The Italians subsequently developed the machine we know today which forces hot water under pressure through finely ground coffee.
In Italy, the price of an espresso is regulated by law. The Italians serve it in a 'demitazza' (half-cup), containing 11/2 ounces of rich, dark, coffee with a golden froth or ‘crema’ on top.
For an instantly intense espresso experience, try NESCAFÉ Espresso.
Cappuccino
A frothy mixture with equal measures of espresso and steamed, frothed milk. Usually served with a sprinkling of chocolate. NESCAFÉ has a whole range of delicious, creamy cappuccinos.
Macchiato
Espresso with a splash or spot ('macchia') of steamed milk.
Just add a dash of hot milk to your favourite NESCAFÉ.
Latte Macchiato
It’s the flip side of a macchiato. Fill a glass with hot frothed milk, then slowly dribble in a shot of espresso, to create that layered effect.
Add a NESCAFÉ Espresso slowly to a cup of hot milk. Then spoon over some of the milky foam. You can froth your milk either manual or battery powered whisk.
Americano
Espresso with extra hot water. To most people, it’s a black coffee.
Two spoons of NESCAFÉ in a mug of hot water, and it’s an Americano.
Café Latte
Simply an espresso with steamed milk and a dollop of frothed milk on top, making it milkier than a cappuccino.
Just mix NESCAFÉ Original or Gold Blend with hot milk.
Corretto
An espresso spiked with a spirit like cognac or grappa.
Add your favourite tipple to your NESCAFÉ for an after-dinner corretto.
Romano
Espresso with a slice of lemon.
Pop a slice of lemon in your NESCAFÉ Espresso.
Ristretto
Double the strength of your average espresso.
An extra spoonful of NESCAFÉ Espresso makes yours a ristretto
Con Panna
Espresso topped with a dollop of whipped cream.
Add a spoonful of cream to your NESCAFÉ Espresso.
Granita de Caffé
A cold espresso poured over crushed ice.
Make your NESCAFÉ Espresso, let it cool and pour over crushed ice.
Café au lait
The French version of a milky coffee.
Make your favourite NESCAFÉ and add milk. Voilà!
Demi-créme
Half coffee and half cream or milk.
Just add milk or cream to your usual NESCAFÉ in half and half proportions.
Café con Leche
The Spanish or Portuguese like their dark roasted coffee mixed with sugar and served with heated milk.
Create the same effect with a dark roast coffee like NESCAFÉ Alta Rica.
Mocha
One-third espresso, one-third hot chocolate, and one-third steamed milk.
Try it yourself with NESCAFÉ Mocha or Double Choca Mocha.
